CHARLES
WILLIAMS
Singer, Teacher, Actor
"A
true patron saint of the voice."
-Dr.
Bernice Johnson Reagon,
founder of the Grammy award-winning vocal group,
Sweet Honey in the Rock.
In my metro Washington, D.C. vocal studio, I'll show you how to find and develop your own sound and style.
Whether
you want to sing opera, pop, gospel, musical theater,
blues or traditional folk, your instrument is your voice, your
body, your intelligence and your soul. Vocal training will enable
you to use your instrument to the fullest extent.
I can help you to:
I'm a professional singer, voice teacher and actor. In the course of my career I sang the role of Sportin' Life in the New York Metropolitan Opera's 50th anniversary production of Porgy and Bess. I've toured all over the world singing everything from opera and Broadway show tunes to Spirituals; German lieder to field hollers. I've had more than four decades of teaching students from the US, Europe and the Middle East to sing in a wide range of styles.
In my workshops and private lessons, I share the tips and techniques for both beginners and mature vocalists. My experience as an actor will enable me to show you to do more than just sing correctly; I will help you learn how to harness your energy to reach out, capture and hold an audience's attention.
